Itinerary

The itinerary is the backbone of every Trip Hub trip. It organizes everything you plan to do into a day-by-day timeline, from the flight in on day one to the drive home at the end. You can build it manually, pull in concerts from your saved shows, or do a combination of both.

Timeline View

The itinerary displays as a vertical timeline grouped by date. Each day shows a header with the date and a list of items scheduled for that day in chronological order. Scroll up and down to move between days.

Smart date selection: if your trip is currently in progress, the itinerary automatically opens to today's date rather than the first day of the trip, so you always land on what's happening now.

Item Types

You can add several types of items to the itinerary. Each type has its own color-coded dot to make the timeline easy to scan at a glance:

TypeColor
ConcertPurple
FlightBlue
HotelTeal
ActivityOrange
MealYellow

Adding Items Manually

To add an item, tap the + button on any day in the itinerary. Select an item type, then fill in the relevant details:

  • All types: name, date, start time, and a free-text note
  • Concerts: venue, artist
  • Flights: airline, flight number, departure and arrival airports
  • Hotels: property name, check-in and check-out times
  • Activities / Meals: location

Items are sorted by start time within each day automatically.

Notes

Every itinerary item type takes a free-text note, not just activities and meals. This is the place for confirmation numbers, gate information, reservation names, or anything else you want at hand on the day. Notes sync between the web and iOS apps, so a confirmation number you paste on your laptop is on your phone when you land.

Trip essentials take a note too. See Essentials.

The Add Menu Web

At the top of a trip, the + button adds an itinerary item. Beside it, a menu groups the actions that bring things in from elsewhere:

ActionWhat it does
Find flightsSearches flights that get you to the show on time. See Finding Flights.
Discover eventsFinds concerts happening at your destination during the trip.
Import showsPulls in concerts you have already saved.
Import confirmationReads a booking email you paste in.

These used to sit in the header as separate icons. They're now labelled, which matters most on a touchscreen where an icon has no tooltip to explain it.

Importing Concerts from Shows

Rather than entering concert details by hand, you can import them directly from Shows. Choose Import shows from the add menu and TixTrk displays all saved shows that fall within the trip's date range. Select the ones you want and they're added to the itinerary with venue, date, and time already populated.

TIP

Import Shows is the fastest way to build out a concert-heavy itinerary. Add the supporting logistics (flights, hotels) manually around the shows.

Editing and Reordering

Tap any itinerary item to open its detail view and make changes. Items cannot be manually reordered within a day; they always sort by start time.

Deleting an item

The delete control differs by platform, and neither one is a swipe:

On the web Web

Hover over the item in the timeline. An edit (pencil) and delete (trash) icon pair appears on the right. Click the trash icon and confirm in the Delete Item? dialog.

On iPhone iOS

Tap the item and choose Delete from the action sheet.

TIP

On the web app the edit and delete icons are revealed on hover, so on a touchscreen browser they stay hidden until you tap the row.
