Search
The Search page is your gateway to finding shows and discovering venues. Use the Artist and Venue tabs at the top of the page to switch between searching for performers and searching for specific venues. Your last-used tab is remembered across sessions.
Artist Search
Finding an Artist
Type the name of any artist, comedian, or sports team in the search bar. Results appear as you type, pulling live data from Ticketmaster's event database. Select an artist to open their upcoming events.
TIP
Results include artists, comedians, and sports teams — not just musicians. If you're planning a comedy show or a game night, search for it the same way you would a concert.
Search tip
The Ticketmaster API works best with complete words. For example, searching "foo" or "foo fighters" will return results, but "foo fi" likely won't. If you're not finding what you're looking for, try using the full artist name or just the first word.
Browsing Upcoming Events
Once you select an artist, TixTrk displays their upcoming events in chronological order. Each event card shows:
- Event name and date
- Venue name and city
- Event type (music, comedy, sports)
- On-sale status and ticket link
Event Types
TixTrk pulls event data from Ticketmaster, which covers a broad range of live events:
- Music — concerts, festivals, and tours
- Comedy — stand-up shows and comedy tours
- Sports — games and sporting events
All three types can be saved to your wishlist and managed the same way.
Adding a Show to Your Wishlist
On any event card, click Add to Wishlist (or the plus button). You'll be prompted to choose a status for the show:
- Interested — you're considering it but haven't committed
- Confirmed — you're planning to go but don't have tickets yet
- Ticketed — you have tickets in hand
You can always update the status later from your wishlist.
Tracking Artists
When you open an artist's event listing, click Track Artist to save them to your tracked artists list. Tracked artists appear in a quick-access list so you don't have to search again from scratch.
Tracking an artist doesn't add any shows to your wishlist — it just keeps the artist handy for future browsing. Tracked artists also enable new show alerts: when a tracked artist announces a new event, TixTrk surfaces it in your notifications the next time you log in.
Venue Search
Switch to the Venue tab to search for venues by name or keyword. This is useful when you want to browse upcoming shows at a specific venue — a local club you frequent, an amphitheater you're visiting, or a stadium on a road trip.
Searching for a Venue
Type at least two characters to start searching. Each result shows the venue name and city. Click any result to open the Venue Profile.
TIP
Venue search is backed by Ticketmaster's venue database. Results include arenas, theaters, amphitheaters, and smaller clubs that have at least one event listed on Ticketmaster.
Venue Profile
The Venue Profile shows the venue's upcoming events, images, and location details. From here you can:
- Browse all upcoming shows at that venue
- Add any show directly to your wishlist
- Favorite the venue to save it for quick access
Favorite Venues
Favorite Venues lets you bookmark venues you care about — your hometown arena, a club you visit regularly, or a theater you're planning to visit. Favorites are saved to your account and sync across devices.
Saving a Favorite
There are two ways to favorite a venue:
- From search results — each venue result row has a heart icon on the right edge. Click it to save or remove that venue without navigating away from the list.
- From the Venue Profile — the heart button in the venue header toggles the favorite.
A filled heart means the venue is saved; an outline heart means it isn't. Changes are instant — no separate save step required.
Your Favorites Grid
When you have at least one saved venue, a grid of your favorites appears below the venue search input on the Venue tab. Each card shows the venue image (or a map thumbnail if no photo is available), the venue name, and city. Click any card to jump directly to that venue's profile.
What Favorites Enable
Saved venues power new show alerts. When a favorited venue announces a newly visible event, TixTrk checks for it the next time you log in and surfaces it in your notifications.
INFO
New show alerts are checked once on login and every 30 minutes while the app is open. See Notifications for full details.
