Find Flights searches for nonstop flights that get you to a show on time. Pick the airport you're leaving from, and TixTrk shows the flights landing near your destination before the doors open, with the option to add one straight to your itinerary.

This is a web feature. The iPhone app displays flights on the itinerary once they're added, but has no search of its own.

Where to Find It

There are three ways in, and which one appears depends on the trip.

The flight prompt. When a trip is far enough from home to fly to and has no flight on the itinerary yet, a No flight yet prompt appears at the top of the trip, just above the day list. Tap Find flights to open the search. If it isn't useful, tap the x to dismiss it for the rest of your visit.

The add menu. Tap the menu beside the + button at the top of a trip and choose Find flights. This is always available as long as the trip has a concert with a known venue location, including for trips close to home and trips that already have a flight booked.

The Dashboard. When the Action Required section shows a Missing flight alert, tapping it opens that trip with the flight search already up.

TIP

The prompt is a suggestion and the menu is the door. If the prompt isn't showing but you still want to look at flights, use the add menu.

Why the Prompt Sometimes Doesn't Appear

The prompt is deliberately quiet. It stays hidden when:

• The trip is close to home. It uses the same Local Radius as everything else in TixTrk, so a show you'd drive to won't be treated as one you'd fly to. See Home Base.
• A flight is already on the itinerary. The prompt says "No flight yet," so once that stops being true it goes away.
• The trip has no concert yet, or the concert has no venue location saved. The search needs a venue and a show time to work from.
• Your Home Base has no location saved, so TixTrk can't tell how far the trip is.
• You dismissed it during this visit.

The add menu ignores all of these except the last two conditions about a concert, so it stays available when the prompt doesn't.

Running a Search

Choose where you're flying from. The Flying from list shows airports near your Home Base, nearest first, with one already selected. You can change it, and it's worth checking: the nearest airport is not always the one with flights to where you're going. If a search comes back empty, try another airport from the list before assuming there's nothing.

Check the Departure date. It defaults to the day your trip starts, not the day of the show. If your trip starts Monday and the show is Tuesday, you want to land Monday, and that's what it searches for. Change it if you're flying in on a different day.

Tap Find Flights. Results show the airline, flight number, departure and arrival times, and which airport each flight lands at. Destination cities with more than one airport are searched together, so a trip to Los Angeles covers all the nearby options in one go.

What You'll See

Only nonstop flights appear. Connections are not searched.

By default, results are limited to flights that land before the show starts, which is the whole point of searching from inside a trip. A See all flights option appears when there are later flights to show, in case you're arriving separately from the rest of the plan.

Times are shown in the local time of each airport, so a departure time is the clock on the wall where you take off and an arrival time is the clock where you land.

WARNING

TixTrk shows scheduled flights so you can plan. It is not a booking tool and it doesn't show prices or seat availability. Book with the airline, then add the flight to your itinerary to keep everything in one place.

Adding a Flight to Your Trip

Tap + Add on any result. The flight is added with its airline, flight number, airports, and times already filled in, on the correct day of your trip.

Once it's there it behaves like any other itinerary item: you can edit it, add a note with your confirmation number, or delete it. See Itinerary.

Adding a flight also clears the Missing flight alert on your Dashboard, and hides the flight prompt on that trip.

If a Search Comes Back Empty

An empty result usually means one of three things:

1. No nonstop service. Not every city pair has one. Try a different departure airport, especially a larger one.
2. The date is too far out. Airlines publish schedules ahead of time, but not indefinitely.
3. Your departure date is wrong. Check it's the day you actually want to fly.

If your Home Base has no location saved, the panel will tell you so and point you at Settings. Re-pick your home city from the suggestions there so it saves a location, then try again.
